I was delighted to see my work featured in Style Me Pretty, and ever so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such a fabulous, and talented group of vendors on this shoot!
This inspiration shoot is perfect for today’s modern and preppy couple, who wants to do away with the formality of a large wedding and prefers to elope now and celebrate later! I hope you enjoy the photos, as well as the story behind the styled shoot.

The Inspiration: This concept came up during a fun brunch with my friends from Sugar Fancies & Llorente Design. We were sharing ideas about what inspired us, and together we dreamt up this sweet elopement idea that would be a perfect fit for Vizcaya. We were all dying to do something at Vizcaya but wanted to deviate from the formal weddings that are so often associated with their gardens. We discussed many ideas, and in the end developed a vision that revolved around a love of preppy details, as embodied by Kate Spade. Yellow seemed a natural fit, to play off the lush green garden atmosphere of Vizcaya. It was truly a dream come true, seeing this styled shoot come to life!
A Few Fun Facts: It was challenging to pull together a few key elements of the shoot, because we decided to shoot on the 4th of July to avoid the usual crowds that visit Vizcaya on the weekends. The models are a real life couple, and I loved that because you can really see the love in their photos – thank you Karina & Kirk! The headpiece worn by the bride is a small treasure I discovered on a recent trip to Paris, and bought it on a whim, without a real plan on when to use it. It was perfect for the shoot! I found the necklace on Rent the Runway, on a search for yellow accessories and was delighted when I found out it was a true Kate Spade piece! Oh, yeah, and the flowers? I purchased them at Whole Foods on the day of the shoot, and they were hand tied into a bouquet for the bride and fashioned into a boutonniere for the groom onsite by my multi-talented friend at Sugar Fancies!
